Natalie was the owner of the project. She designed the project logo, set up google slides, and built the presentation slide deck.
Anastasia was a member of the team. She worked on project ideation, created a demo React.js app, and researched companies providing feedback on carbon footprint.
Dana was a member of the team. She researched code efficiency, created a slide introducing the challenge, solution, and next steps, and worked on a finance strategy slide.
Jayna was a member of the team. She worked on prototyping in Figma and was part of forming the awesome team.
Nicole was a member of the team. She researched how companies approach code efficiency and was involved in building the presentation slide deck.
The project codebase was composed with the following list of technologies:
Language | % of Codebase |
---|---|
JavaScript | 71.7 |
HTML | 19.2 |
CSS | 9.2 |
The App is analysing code snippets and making calculations of memory usage, runtime and CO2 emission. As a result it provides optimised code suggestion and percentage of improvement in CO2.
Carbon mindful companies that provide services to analyse codebase to highlight carbon footprint.
We built a basic React App which is broken down to components and utils, deployed to GitHub Pages.
It was hard to choose the idea as we had many good ideas. Initially our team had a much broader idea for our software solution. However, we needed to scale it back and stick to a niche problem our project could fix.
We would add the feature where you can analyse the hardware usage. CI/CD optimisation. Increase architecture efficiency, maybe move towards event-driven architecture.
